So if you mine it once, and a Niter Deposit doesn't appear it wont appear for that vein. Luck will affect Niter deposit frequency. Mining a niter deposit will yield salt peter. Mining
Mining allows you to gather ores that are used in a lot of the different crafting skills. You can start mining with a shovel or pickaxe. YOu can also gather granite or special gems while mining. Granite requires a specialization book to be read before you can mine it and then you'll also need to select granite on your shovel or pickaxe.
Higher ore colors can only be obtained by raising your mining skill.
